“The State Department and universities around the country are warning college students headed to Mexico for spring break of a surge in drug-related killings and mayhem south of the border.”
Granted, gringos need to watch their asses when looking for love in Tijuana. Those mendacious Mexicanos have been known to try to pass a haggard ass 17 year old off as a fresh pubescent to a poor drunken weary traveler with nothing left in life but 800 pesos and a dream…
But honestly, would they have you believe that you’d be better off going to Fort Lauderdale. Fort Lauderdale, where you can be charged with felony battery on a law enforcement officer if a cop bruises his knuckles or injures his wrist while beating the crap out of you. Joshua Daniel Ortiz was charged with just that, the 22 year old college kid was facing a long prison sentence for assaulting three Fort Lauderdale police, that was until his lawyer finally got his hands on the following video:
(take notice of the one pig in the cap on the lower right, smiling and laughing during the assault)
“After seeing the video…prosecutors downgraded the charge to a misdemeanor resisting charge. Upon further review, prosecutors dropped the case entirely.”
But
“Fort Lauderdale police internal affairs investigators reviewed the incident more than a month ago and found no violations of policy or procedures, said Sgt. Frank Sousa, the department’s spokesman.”
